Who is it for
Audio description (AD) serves people who are blind or have low vision and who would otherwise miss the visual half of a video, performance, exhibit, or presentation.
AD can be prerecorded, such as for movies and webinars, or offered live. Live audio description is especially useful at theaters, on tours, and at events, where visual details are happening in the moment.
How it works
Audio description provides spoken narration of important visual details, including character movements, facial expressions, scene transitions, and on-screen text.
The narration is written and timed to flow naturally with the tone and pacing of your content, so individuals who are blind or have low vision experience the visual story rather than a list of what they missed.
How we deliver
Whether it’s prerecorded or happening live, audio description makes visual information more accessible.
Narration is inserted into the natural pauses in dialogue, maintaining the integrity of the content without disrupting its flow or changing its runtime.
When there are few natural pauses, extended description temporarily pauses the video so longer, more detailed narration can be delivered without cutting information.
Describers work live for performances, theater, museum tours, exhibits, conferences, and public events, delivering description to patrons through headsets in the room.
