Who is it for
Large print accommodates those who experience vision loss and low vision, as well as the elderly, the aging, and people with dyslexia.
It also reaches people with hidden disabilities who may never explicitly request an accommodation. Offering large print by default means those readers are served without having to ask.
How it works
Large print transcription adapts font, text, content layouts, and graphics to appear more clearly and, in general, larger for those whose vision requires it.
This is not simply enlarging a page. Our technique has been evaluated by low-vision professionals and refined to provide optimal accessibility, using bold, italics, underlines, and color variation deliberately rather than decoratively.
The transcription process addresses content layout and formatting, pagination, and font selection, tables of contents and indexes, contrast and color distinctions, charts, graphs and tables, and headers, footers and text emphasis.
How we deliver
Transcribed by trained professionals, printed by certified facilities, bound the way you need.
We use trained transcribers rather than automated software, because automated enlargement breaks layout, reflows tables incorrectly, and loses emphasis.
Charts, graphs, and tables are redesigned for readability, with thoughtful use of contrast, color, and layout so the information stays clear and accessible in its new, larger format.
Materials are printed on 8½ x 11-inch or 11 x 17-inch paper with stapling or GCB comb binding, produced through our SOC 2 certified printing partners.
